Join the Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise and the University of Kentucky Economics Society for the event "Life and Times of a Fortune 20 CFO" with Mike Schlotman on October 5th, 2017. 

Mike Schlotman will share his experience working for The Kroger Company and provide advice to students as they embark on their post-graduate careers.

Mike Schlotman: Life and Times of a Fortune 20 CFO

Michael Schlotman is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Kroger Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. He works closely with Kroger CEO and fellow Gatton alumnus Rodney McMullen in running the Fortune 20 company, one of the world’s largest grocery retailers, which recorded $115.3 billion in sales in fiscal 2016.

Schlotman, a member of the Gatton College Alumni Hall of Fame, earned his B.S. in accounting at the University of Kentucky in 1979, and he serves as a member of the Gatton College Accounting Advisory Board. He started his career in the Louisville office of national accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, transferring to the Cincinnati office before joining Kroger in 1985. He has been at Kroger headquarters for his entire 31-year career at the company and has held a variety of leadership positions, including vice president and corporate controller.​​

He serves as Chair of the Board of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport​ (CVG), is a member of the Board of Ohio National Financial Services, and a member of the CNBC Global CFO Council​
