COMING SOON: Tobacco Harm-Reduction Conference and Training Opportunity

July 17, 2025

ISFE is excited to announce that, thanks to funding from Global Action to End Smoking, we will soon be launching a training program for researchers from around the world who are interested in reducing the harm caused by products containing nicotine. The training will emphasize the application of econometric tools designed to identify causal effects. Participants will be chosen through an application process. Those chosen will attend a three-day, expenses-paid conference in Malaysia in late fall 2025. Participants will present and receive feedback on their own research and also attend training sessions run by globally recognized experts in tobacco harm-reduction research. Following the conference, participants will continue to receive personalized mentoring and feedback over the following year, culminating in the possible publication of their studies in a Southern Economic Journal symposium. They will also receive a free training manual based on material presented in the training sessions at the conference.

An announcement with more details will be coming soon. Please follow ISFE on X or Facebook (both @UKISFE) to make sure you don’t miss it!
